International Ties

Summer school in Beijing

The Insurance Law Center prides itself on its international focus.  Our students hail from all over the world and so do our faculty.  Professors from France, Italy, and China regularly teach insurance law at the Law School and we enjoy hosting visiting scholars from abroad.

Our faculty lectures often in Europe and has collaborated with Lloyds of London. The Center also has deep ties with China.  Our Director, Patricia McCoy, is an honorary professor at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing and Professor Xin Chen, a leading insurance scholar there (in photo, in the back at the right), frequently visits the Center.

More recently, the Center has extended its activities to South Africa. In 2009, the Center held its fall symposium on South African financial reforms and, in 2010, Professor McCoy was appointed an honorary law professor at the University of Pretoria.  In the future, the Center looks forward to extending its ties to other parts of the globe.
